FIRE crews dealing with an incident in a city centre building have accessed the roof in search of smoke.

Firefighters arrived at the customer service centre at Brittania House, Hall Ings, to reports of a smoky electrical fitting.

Two fire engines pulled up around half past five while crowds of staff gathered outside.

Shop keepers nearby were also advised to evacuate members of staff and customers.
