POLICE have reminded people to only use the 999 line in an emergency after receiving a call from an impatient person ringing their doctors surgery.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre often tweets about the calls it receives from members of the public, which may be seen to be taking up their valuable time and distract them from potential emergency calls.
On this occasion, the angry caller rang the emergency line to ask the service to ring their doctors as they were fed up of waiting 30 minutes to try to get through.
This follows a story earlier this month about a caller who rang the number complaining they could not receive chicken nuggets from a branch of McDonald’s.
