A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries, after a crash with a van.
Police were called to the accident on Wrose Road, at its junction with King's Road, at around 4:50pm.
The collision involved a motorbike and a white Ford Transit van.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, and the Air Ambulance to the scene.
The motorcyclist was taken to Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) by the land ambulance.
It is believed their injuries are serious.
Beth Peacock, from Eccleshill, drove past the incident as she made her way to Five Lane Ends.
She said she'd seen the Air Ambulance land on Wrose Play and Recreational Ground.
Ms Peacock added that there was debris all over the road.
Wrose Road is partially blocked both ways and traffic is building after the incident.
Vehicles are queueing from King's Road to Swain House Road.
The 663 bus service is also being impacted.
