KEIGHLEY folk have had their say after the town was voted in the top 10 worst places to live in England.

The online survey by satirical website I Live Here, rated Keighley as seventh in the list which was topped by Peterborough.

After the Telegraph & Argus published the story online earlier today - you can read that and vote in a poll here - readers have given their views on whether they agree with the ranking.

Halifax, Wakefield and Huddersfield also made the undesirable top 10 in 10th, eighth and third place respectively.

Some of the story’s Facebook comments include:

Melody Pugh: “Totally disagree! I live in Keighley and never need nor want to go into Bradford for anything!”

Adam Goodhew: “I wonder where the snob who wrote this live.”

Nik Bennett: “Keighley isn’t so bad yes its run down but if Bradford Council give a little more to Keighley well I reckon that would make all the difference. As for the crime drugs and anything else well that's just everywhere these days.”

Graham Wood: “Wonder if those who did the survey would get away with stereotyping other areas in such a way?”

Some readers were not quite as supportive about Keighley’s ranking.

Steven Hird posted: “Why is this a shock?”, while PuttingRightSomeWrongen's posted on the T&A website: “I suggest getting the bulldozers in and turn it into a theme park!!”

And Andrew J Kitching summed up the top 10: “So basically what the survey says is, West Yorkshire is the undesirable place to live.”
