AN international company has been granted permission to demolish a number of dilapidated buildings at its Keighley site.

Water bottling company Refresco has a base next to the roundabout on Hard Ings Road - on the site of a former abattoir.

The site is used for the extraction of water.

There are a number of vacant buildings on the site in various states of disrepair on the site, and shortly before Christmas the company submitted an application to demolish these buildings.

Bradford Council has now approved the demolition work.

There will be four buildings in total that will be demolished.

They include the former abattoir lodge, part of the existing tripe building, and a long storage building on the border of this site and the neighbouring ambulance station.

The company said many sections of the empty buildings are β€œin a dangerous condition in a state of disrepair.”

The site will be re-surfaced once the four buildings are demolished.
