DID you know dogs need to be on leads around some of the district's parks?
In Saltaire's Roberts Park, your favourite canine must always be restricted by a lead. This also applies for all of Haworth (Central) Park. Peel Park's pond gardens are also subject of these restrictions.
In Lister Park, Manningham, dogs need to be on leads in the Mughal Water Garden & Cartwright Hall Forecourt and its Botanical Garden.
Harold Park's sensory garden and Boer War Memorial are also areas where dogs should be on leads.
A total of 39 bowling greens across the Bradford district also call for owners to put leads on their dogs. These include Crowgill Park in Shipley and Wibsey Park.
There are 25 cemeteries where dog leads are necessary. Among these are Nab Wood Cemetery & Crematorium and sites in Tong, Oxenhope and Steeton.
Any dog owners caught with their dogs off their lead in one of the below locations face a fine.
The restrictions were made under the Dogs on Leads (City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council) Order 2013 and came into force on January 21, 2013.
But the restrictions may be lifted if the dog owner has a reasonable excuse for doing so; or the owner, occupier or other person or authority having control of the land has consented to his failing to do so.
