THE Bradford City powers-that-be are today reported to be thrashing out what they will do over Eoin Doyle returning to the club after his successful loan spell at Swindon.

The Irish loan star has scored 23 goals for League Two leaders Swindon during his loan spell in the first half of the season.

However, the Bantams are reported to be interested in taking their man back to fourth-placed Bradford halfway through the agreement.

Here are five reasons why Doyle, who signed a season-loan loan deal at the Robins in August last year, might wish to return to City:

Bigger stage to perform

Yes, Doyle has been regularly netting for fun at Swindon, but the crowd for City's visit to the County Ground on Saturday as 8,407 compared to Valley Parade's crowds nearly doubling that, with 15,197 attending the 2-0 win over Mansfield Town on December 29. Surely Doyle will thrive playing in front of bigger crowds.

Renewed confidence

Doyle was the player to make way out of City's celebrated DVD; Doyle, James Vaughan and Clayton Donaldson, but after 23 goals for Swindon he would return on top of his game and with a spring in his step.

Boost to goal-shy attack

Vaughan has hit nine times this season, especially deadly from the penalty spot, while Clayton Donaldson, Aramide Oteh, Shay McCartan have all contributed to City's 32 goals in 25 games this season.

But red-hot hitman Doyle would eclipse all of them if he swaps Wiltshire for West Yorkshire.

Help title charge

After last season's woeful relegation, imagine how lauded the City squad of 2019-20 would be if they got promoted come the end of April?

With Doyle's return and a similar goal ratio during the second half of the campaign, surely that would be a distinct possibility.

Just imagine the scenes on the last day against Walsall at Valley Parade on April 25 if City were going back up to League One.

Unfinished business

Some might harshly say that Doyle has a point to prove at Valley Parade after just 11 goals in his 46 appearances during his initial spell at City starting in August 2018. But let's flip that and say he would return to claret and amber colours with renewed fire in his belly looking to topple the 30 goals for the season tally.
