A BRADFORD restaurant was hit by an attempted break-in this morning, leaving the owner simply asking "What can we do?".

Lawbreakers smashed through the windows of International Restaurant at around 2.30am but left empty-handed.

West Yorkshire Police said it is treating the incident as burglary and first received reports of 'damage to a property' at 8.30am today.

Police arrived at the scene to take a look at CCTV footage and check the scene for clues.

Businessman Safeer Khan, who is left to pick up the pieces, said: "Just watch out. There's people out there.

"They smashed the window and came in. They didn't take anything.

"It's not great but what can we do?

"It's not a good thing."

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

But Mr Khan has reassured his customers that business is open as usual this New Year.

Work to replace the damage will take place over the coming days.
