A WITNESS has spoken of an incident in Keighley where a man was allegedly stabbed and left seriously injured on Boxing Day.

Police were called to North Dean Road, Braithwaite at around 3.12pm after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed.

The 20-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Those injuries were not found to be life threatening.

A 37 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

The witness, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “I saw a young man on the floor.

"There was blood all over the floor and he was bleeding heavily. He was in immense pain. It looked like he had been slashed.

“The ambulance took around 15 minutes to come.

"He was begging them (the paramedics) for help.

"I remained calm, I have done first aid before but it was still horrific to see.

"I know so many children who hang out around that area, so we’re lucky that none of them had to see it."
