A FAMILY FIRM held a Christmas Eve giveaway today to celebrate being in business for over 100 years, where one lucky winner received a brand new motorbike, and reacted with delight over the phone.

Baildon motorcycle dealer Allan Jefferies held a prize draw, where Andrew Dibden, 55, from Chadderton, Oldham, was gifted a BMW G 310R after being named as the winner.

Andrew was not at the showroom in person, so had to be told of the win over the phone - and he reacted with both shock and surprise.

Louise called him from her office and eased into the conversation, engaging in some small talk, before she made reference to the prize draw he was entered in. Without a moment's hesitation, Andrew exclaimed, "what have I won?!"

After being told he was now the new owner of a BMW G 310R, Andrew said "super-duper!" and could not contain his excitement.

Allan Jefferies was founded in 1917, by Joseph Jeffries, and is now run by his great-granddaughter Louise Jeffries, the fourth generation of the family to run it. Its centenary was in 2017, but the firm was too busy to celebrate. To compensate, Louise hosted this year's giveaway as a way to mark the anniversary.

"2017 marked 100 years, but it actually passed us by as we had just completed the expansion of our Baildon showroom and were purchasing our dealership in South Yorkshire", said Louise.

Bingley-born professional motorcycle road racer, Ian Hutchinson, was in attendance at the showroom to reveal the winner. A spokesperson from the business' marketing team said, "It's lovely that Ian supports us and the business."

Andrew later said, "I'm over the moon. Allan Jeffries is a top dealer and I don't mind coming all the way here to Bradford, as this place does a better job than anywhere."
