CROWDS turned out in Haworth as the village staged its annual - and much-loved - nativity weekend. 

Spectators gathered around the Christmas tree at the bottom of Main Street to watch Joseph, Mary and the donkeys make their way up the hill to search for a resting place.

The procession, which also included alpacas, was accompanied by the Golcar Brass Band to add to the traditional Christmas atmosphere in the heart of Bronte Country.

On Saturday, there was a chance to delve into ‘Haunted Haworth’ with a special walk led by Adam Sargent, who told traditional Victorian ghost stories. 

Haworth has put on a packed programme of events in the run up to Christmas.

Speaking about the weekend, Josie Price, from the Weavers Guesthouse and who is on the committee for Christmas in Haworth, said: “It has been amazingly busy - a really, really good turnout.

“It’s felt particularly Christmassy this weekend.” 

She said the village had been busy before and after the nativity and added: “It’s always a really much-anticipated event.”
