THE Station Plaza in Ilkley has come runner-up in the National Railway Heritage Awards for the refurbishment of the glazed car park canopy.
The awards, now in their 40th year, are organised by The National Railway Heritage Awards in recognition of refurbishment projects that have taken place around the country which have a heritage interest and value to the railway industry.
The awards ceremony took place at Merchant Taylors’ Hall in London in the presence of The Princess Royal.
The award was received by Jo Bamford and David Brackenridge from BHT, managing agents for the development, on behalf of Glenwood Ltd.
The refurbishment of the glazed car park canopy was particularly recognised for its consideration of future maintenance and came a close second to Bat and Ball Station in Sevenoaks which was the overall winner in the class.
