WELDMAR'S fundraising Frosty 5k run has been cancelled due to the forecast of high winds on Sunday morning.
A spokesman said: "Organisers have been advised to postpone the Frosty 5k event on Sunday morning. Our partnering event company have told us the winds, which are currently forecast to be up to 40mph, will make the inflatable structures unsafe for participants, staff and volunteers.
"We’re very sorry to cause disappointment, but clearly safety has to be the first priority. We do hope that you will join us on the re-arranged date of Sunday, January 5, in the same location of the Great Field in Poundbury.
