A DECISION on whether to allow houses to be built on the outskirts of Thornton will be made next week.
An application by T Daynes to build four detached houses on the land off Back Lane was submitted earlier this year.
Next Thursday members of Bradford Council's Bradford Area Planning Panel will decide whether to allow the scheme to go ahead. They will be advised to approve the plans, despite several objections claiming the houses would increase traffic on the neighbouring roads and be out of character to the area.
Developer tells Council it is 'not viable' to provide affordable housing as part of Thornton development
Council officers have said the development would not meet the density of housing the authority normally required. But a report going to the committee says: "Developing the land on the basis of four large family homes the development contributes to the districts housing mix, and meets a defined need within the district for this type of home."
The committee meets in City Hall next Thursday at 10am.
