SIX vehicles were damaged after a car involved in a police pursuit crashed in Keighley.

A police spokesman said: “At about 6.53pm yesterday (Sunday) a silver Audi A3 failed to stop for police in Highfield Lane, Keighley.

“This was in collision with a number of other cars almost immediately afterwards and was abandoned by the sole occupant, who was believed to be wearing a grey hooded top.

“Enquiries suggest it was stolen in a burglary in Redcliffe Street earlier in the day.

“Anyone with information which may assist is asked to contact police on 101, or by using the contact options on the West Yorkshire Police website. The crime reference for the burglary is 13190629244. Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”

Fire crews were called to make one of the vehicles that the Audi hit safe.

The battery of a Toyota Prius was smoking after the collision.

A Volkswagen Golf was among the other vehicles damaged in the incident.

A spokesman for Keighley fire station said no-one was injured in the incident.

Police were on the scene and had to deal with a large crowd who gathered.
