A YOUNG man is appealing for help to trace his bike after it was stolen in Saltaire.

It happened at around 6pm on Friday shortly after Adam Thompson, 19, finished work in the village.

He unchained the Yamaha bike, which he'd only had for three weeks, when he was approached by what he describes as three "lads" who started asking him questions about the bike.

Mr Thompson said they started to go after the keys, so he put his hand over them and put them in his pocket.

However, one of the group was able to get to the keys and Mr Thompson says they were then slipped to one of the others.

As he went to try and get the keys, Mr Thompson says two of the group jumped on the bike, started it and rode it off.

He has reported the incident to the police.
