A DEESIDE boy is to appear in the Peter Pan Panto at Liverpool Empire.

Harrison Catherall, aged just eight, is playing the part of Michael Darling in the acclaimed panto.

Harrison, who has been performing since a toddler, went for open auditions in September for the production.

Following the audition he was recalled along with 85 other children, and Harrison was delighted to hear he had been offered the part of Michael Darling.

And he has the honour of featuring in the opening scene of the panto.

Harrison, who attends Wepre Primary School, has been going to The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts in Chester for over a year.

Mum Elizabeth Jones said: "We asked him if he wanted to do it as it is big commitment for an eight-year-old and he said “are you kidding? of course I want to do it!”

"Both myself and his Dad are very proud of him anyway, but this has come as a huge shock to us we are beaming with pride.

"Harrison will always be our star and now he will get to perform inform of 2500 people with 10 show dates in December."

The Peter Pan Panto will feature a host of TV starts, including Louis Emerick (Brookside ), Asa Elliot (Benidorm) and Niki Evans (The X Factor).

The show runs from December 7 until December 29 - and Harrison will appear in every other show.
