ONE of Northern’s brand new trains has been vandalised – only a matter of weeks after entering service.
The unit, 195103, arrived at Bradford Interchange station at 1.40pm today with its paintwork daubed with graffiti.
One onlooker said: "It's a shame that a new train has been vandalised. These units are replacing Pacers, but it looked a right mess at the Interchange."
A Northern spokesperson said: “It is disappointing that this new train, part of a £500 million investment in new trains, has been damaged in this way. In addition to the cost to have graffiti removed, it takes vital trains out of service potentially impacting customers.
“We will work with the British Transport Police to gather evidence and take action against those responsible.”
