WEST Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that the cause of a fire that broke out in Girlington last week is still 'under investigation' by the authorities.
The fire - which happened last Thursday night on Girlington Road - caused damage to properties and buildings and lead to local roads and shops being closed, although no one was hurt in the blaze.
Six fire engines, one aerial platform and supporting resources and officers were at the scene after the fire broke out.
Fire crews did not begin to leave the scene until well into the following day as they stayed to damp down, with the area being cordoned off by police.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, although investigations are ongoing.
