PLANS to turn a former church into a home have been approved by Bradford Council.

Last month a planning application to convert the former Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses into a single dwelling was submitted to Bradford Council.

The application, by Mohammed Abdul Aziz, said the house would cater for multiple people with disabilities, and would include space for wheelchair parking.

Although in the Great Horton Conservation Area, heritage officers said the 1970s build church made little contribution to the area’s heritage.

Approving the plans this week, officers said: “There is a benefit to the proposed change of use and that is the change of the car park to garden. The proposed use of the site will be less intense than the existing use of the site as a place of worship.”
