PLANS to replace a 12-metre tall 4G phone mast with a 20-metre tall 5G mast have been approved by Bradford Council.
MBNL, which works on behalf of EE and H3G, submitted an application to replace one of the poles outside the Hare and Hounds pub on Toller Lane with a larger 5G mast and associated equipment.
It is the latest is a series of applications to install the masts that will help with the roll out of faster 5G phone services across the district.
Various telecommunication companies have been given permission to remove and replace 4G masts.
Bradford Council have now approved the Toller Lane application, including the removal of existing cabinets and installation of new equipment cabinets.

Planning officers said: "Such infrastructure is defined as 'material assets that are essential for the functioning of a society and economy.
"This application is accompanied by a certificate confirming compliance with health guidelines and so this application is not considered to represent any health implications that would prevent the granting of planning permission."
