TEMPORARY library facilities will be provided in Holme Wood until the area's flooded library is repaired.

An "internal problem" in the library caused the facility to flood over the weekend, damaging its floor and leading to Bradford Council closing the facility.

As of yesterday the library remained closed, although services will be offered in the same building.

Officers hope to re-open the building in the coming days - possibly as soon as tomorrow.

Holme Wood library is in the heart of the Holme Wood estate, and opens 30 hours a week. It is part of the TFD Youth Centre building.

A Bradford Council spokesman said: “Flooding caused by an internal problem occurred within Holmewood Library over the weekend.

"This has caused damage to the entire library floor.

"We are now working to resolve the situation but the library service at Holme Wood will be closed for a minimum of two days.

"We are looking into setting up a temporary service within the TFD centre until the current library area can re-open.”
