Bradfordians who are curious about a new eco-building at Baildon Methodist Church are invited for a tour.

The Fold is the first eco-building on church premises in the whole country after an £800,000 project lasting more than a decade.

All of Baildon Methodist Church's buildings will be open on Sunday, December 1 - the day of Baildon at Christmas where there will be activities, refreshments and seasonal stalls.

Free tours, led by trained guides of the newly-opened Fold, will be taking place at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.

The building uses virtually no energy and emits virtually no carbon dioxide. It has very thick walls, massive insulation, triple glazing, and 8 kW of solar panels on its roof.

All are invited to join tours, setting off from the entrance to the Upper Fold, Binswell Fold, off Westgate.

Trustee John D. Anderson said: "Come and and hear about the fascinating features of this remarkable building."
