A BUILDING in a town centre conservation area can be converted into a funeral director's after plans were approved by Bradford Council.
David Nunn, an independent family funeral director, had submitted the plans to convert 11 - 13 Old Main Street in Bingley from offices to a funeral directors.
The Grade II listed building, which was originally two cottages, dates back to the 18th Century, and is in Bingley Conservation Area - a short distance from All Saints Church.

The plans have been approved by planning officers, who said: "The principle of development represents an appropriate use of an unallocated site within the limits of the built up town and with good access to the town centre.
"The intended use is regarded as compatible with the character and significance of the listed building. There are no perceived issues arising from the proposed use which would harm the significance of the heritage assets.
" The use as a funeral directors is not considered to create any additional traffic movements over and above any other business."
