West Yorkshire Police also announced today that officers were continuing searches around the Wilton Bridge and Horbury Bridge area.
In the video appeal, granddaughter Lauren Vasey said: "My grandad is a very lovable character who is loved by many, which is clear because of all the help people have been showing and people going out searching, doing whatever they can.
"He is a keen walker - I believe he can walk two miles in 30 minutes, which is quite impressive for an 81-year-old.
"He loves doing his jigsaws, which is actually what he was doing when the last sighting of him, before he went missing, last Saturday evening.
"We just want him home. We are very, very upset obviously and it’s getting harder and harder each day.
"We just want him home and we love him very, very much.”
On Friday, police issues new CCTV footage of Mr Vasey, which showed him walking by Dewsbury Minster at about 6.01am on Sunday morning.
It is the latest confirmed sighting of the 81-year-old.
Police have also urged people to now get in touch immediately on 999, if you have any information.
Mr Vasey is thought to be wearing a blue fleece, grey pyjama bottoms, and a dark coloured beanie hat.
He is approximately 5ft 7ins tall and of slim build.
A Facebook group has been set-up to try and help in the search for Mr Vasey.
The group has more than 10,000 members.
