A MERCEDES A-Class car has been stolen from a home in Wilsden while the owner slept.
The owner said that burglars ransacked his house looking for the keys, rooting though drawers and cupboards in his kitchen without any luck after having broken in.
The raiders then went upstairs and snatched them from his bedside table while he was sleeping right next to it.
The owner, who wished to stay anonymous, had heard nothing until he heard the noise of his keys being taken and turned over.
But the burglars sprinted down the stairs and out the house.
Shocked and dazed, he said he jumped out of bed and attempted to chase them and then realised there was more than one of them.
As he phone 999 while watching from a window, he saw the burglars speed off in his £22,000 pride and joy.
He walked to the end of his street and found his number plates and steering lock on the grass.
The burglars had snapped the lock to the front door of his house to gain entry.
The owner posted on social media that he was grateful for the support he had received.
