Love Island star Curtis Pritchard officially launched the festive season in High Wycombe last night - flicking the switch on the town's Christmas lights display in front of hundreds of people.

The ballroom sensation, who will be taking on the lead role in the Wycombe Swan panto Dick Whittington from next month, took to the stage in the High Street just before 7pm on Thursday night to turn on the lights.

He was joined on the stage by town mayor Cllr Maz Hussain and Wycombe District Council chairman Cllr Paul Turner.

The spectacular festive event was organised by HWBIDCo, who put on an array of different activities to keep the crowds entertained.

Santa made a visit to Frogmoor, there was a traditional arts and crafts market and a selection of fabulous festive talent on show on the main stage.

There was also a special guest appearance from Peter Auty, performer of the theme song to the 1982 animated film The Snowman.
