WIBSEY is gearing up for its Christmas lights switch-on event and is bringing together a huge range of groups and businesses to mark the festive season.
The switch-on runs from 4.30 pm on Friday, December 6, with proceedings being led by Emmerdale’s Vinny Dingle - Bradford singer and actor Bradley Johnson - who is a regular supporter of Wibsey events.
The whole event, organised by Wibsey Events Group. has been made possible thanks to businesses, residents and organisations who clubbed together to fund a tree, installation of lights and the event itself. This year there will be new light features on two extra lamp posts in Fair Road.
Children at St Winefride’s RC Primary School will sing carols accompanied by Wibsey Salvation Army. Wibsey Library will host children’s face painting by Bradford Youth Service staff and volunteers from 3.30 pm.
