POLICE dealt with an illegal moped driver on their way to reports of an "over the prescribed limit" car driver last night.
The car driver - spotted in Gomersal - was more than four times over the legal limit.
A road-side breath test, conducted by officers, gave a "staggering" reading of 147.
The prescribed limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
On the way to dealing with the report of the car driver, officers sighted a moped travelling down a dark country lane, in Gomersal.
The rider had a pillion passenger sat behind them, but they weren't wearing any protective equipment.
After stopping the moped, officers found the rider was only a provisional licence holder.
They were failing to display "L" plates.
It is also illegal to carry a pillion passenger as a provisional rider, under The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 1999.
It states: "The holder of a provisional licence authorising the driving of a moped shall not drive such a vehicle while carrying on it another person."
The rider was issued summons to court for various document offences.
