THE Rockwell Community Centre is launching a new project to provide real working opportunities for Bradford people with learning disabilities.

Participants will be able to join in with a wide range of activities that are needed to contribute to the everyday running of the centre in Thorpe Edge.

These include cooking and baking, working in the community garden and allotments, looking after the Rockwell chickens, helping in the community café, woodworking, creative arts, housekeeping, developing life and social skills, singing, drama, reading and writing.

The centre says regular users love helping out at Rockwell especially feeding the chickens and picking apples and pears from our garden fruit trees. They have made lots of new friends and are really valued members of the centre.

The centre has a dedicated and experienced staff team that support service users to develop lifelong skills, boosting their confidence and self-esteem. It provides a safe and friendly environment for tailor-made, creative and fun activities to meet each individual’s needs.
