POLICE have confirmed that a pedestrian involved in a major collision yesterday died "at the scene".
The crash occurred on Wakefield Road, at 5:50pm on Thursday.
A pedestrian, a woman in her sixties, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, West Yorkshire Police confirmed today.
The collision involved the pedestrian and a grey Vauxhall Astra.
The road was closed from Dryden Street to the roundabout, with a police van stationed near the roundabout to prevent traffic from using the road.
It is believed this lasted until around 10pm.
The driver of the Vauxhall, a man in his thirties, was spoken to by officers.
Police are now appealing for information.

The Major Collision Enquiry Team is investigating this collision and anyone who witnessed it, or who may have dash cam footage which will assist, is asked to contact the team on 101.
