STEETON Male Voice Choir sang in memory murdered Leeds schoolteacher Ann Maguire.

The choir took part in a song and dance concert at Leeds Irish Centre in Leeds along with Galway contemporary choir The Tribe Tones.

The concert raised funds for the Ann Maguire Arts Education Fund, which continues her work helping and motivating children through arts education.

The choir will again perform with The Tribe Tones when they tour, Ireland next April. The concert was organised by Leeds lad Sean Rowland, a friend of Mrs Maguire and director of the 70-piece Tribe Tones. Also performing were the White Rosettes, an award-winning all-female a cappella group which Mrs Maguire was a member of for a short time.

Some of the Steeton singers had met Mrs Maguire while they were studying together in the 1970s.
