CUSTOMERS new and old flocked to the reopening of one of Keighley’s oldest jewellery shops.
The premises in East Parade opened as Barwick and Haggis in 1872 and for the past 30 years had been a branch of national retailer Herbert Brown.
After Herbert Brown closed all its shops in September, three long-time Keighley staff members struck a deal with the landlord and went into business on their own.
Tina Halligan, Jemma Burdett and Jo Harper kicked off their venture, No63 Jewellers, with a well-attended launch party this month.
Jemma said: “We had mainly old customers coming in to congratulate us, and we had a lot of new interest in our Facebook page.”
No63 Jewellers will sell new and second hand jewellery, buy gold, and carry out jewellery repairs; introduce new lines of jewellery and wedding and christening gifts; and provide a ‘buy-back’ service rather than pawnbroking.
