YORKSHIRE AIR Ambulance (YAA) has warned people against door-knocking and other scams.

The charity has fielded a growing number of calls relating to door-knocking recently.

It reminded people that this is strictly something the charity does not participate in.

YAA also lists a number of other activities that the charity does NOT participate in.

This includes: door to door recycling, cold calling, exchanging data, pestering for donations and street fundraising.

The YAA website said: "As you are probably aware, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance are a well known charity across the Yorkshire region which generally means we are subject to much publicity and interest.

"However, we have experienced on many occasions, people not always acting with the best interests of the charity, and we often get people enquiring with us whether certain fundraisers are acting on behalf of the YAA or not."

Official staff and representatives of the YAA should always be carrying an official YAA ID badge.

This can easily be clarified with the YAA HQ on: 01422 237900.

Staff will also usually be wearing branded YAA branded clothing.
