A MOTORCYCLE showroom has been given the go ahead to move onto a larger site in the same town.

Cobb & Jagger recently submitted plans to re-locate from its Saltaire Road base to the former JCT 600 site on Salts Mill Road.

That showroom shut last November due to a restructuring in the business, when staff were relocated to the company’s Bradford, Menston and Rawdon showrooms.

It has been empty ever since.

Cobb & Jagger, which sells Ducati and Triumph Motorcycles, said moving to the larger site would allow it to expand.

Bradford Council has now granted planning permission for the development, which will include an infill extension and internal refurbishment.

Planning officers said the work would be sympathetic, and not damage the nearby Saltaire World Heritage Site.

The site will be split to provide separate showrooms for Ducati and Triumph.

When the plans were submitted the company said: "Over the course of the past 10 years the existing business has expanded to a point where the current premises are no longer suitable and provide no further expansion space.

“The building is also set over multiple storeys which is not ideal for transfer/movement of motorcycles."

The move will also see the company selling a wider variety of used machines.
