AN inspirational Paralympian visited a school to share his story with pupils.
Craig McCann visited Frizinghall Primary School and the day was described a “great success”.
Craig, from Doncaster, signed up to join the RAF when he was 19, but during a routine medical examination for new recruits, doctors found a brain tumour and Craig required immediate surgery. He had to undergo extensive rehabilitation and rebuilt his life, going on to represent Great Britain in the Paralympic Games.
He’s had major success in cycling and fencing.
Lucy Johnston, PE Lead at the school, said: “All children, from Reception to Year 6, thoroughly enjoyed the fitness circuit. Meeting Craig and listening to his story has really inspired and motivated the children to get active and take up sport.”
