RAIL travellers are being warned about work taking place at King's Cross station this weekend.

Engineering work means an amended timetable is in place.

There will be no northbound services from the station on Sunday before 11am.

LNER services will finish early on Saturday and start late on Sunday.

The company advises travellers to get a seat reservation for travel.

Grand Central says that all its services to and from Bradford are scheduled to run.

Network Rail’s work is planned to untangle the tracks outside King’s Cross as part of its East Coast Upgrade.

The multi-million pound investment will renew track, signalling and overhead line equipment, on the approach to the station.

The track is being re-laid in a new layout, with a disused tunnel being reopened, allowing for six tracks into the station instead of the current four.

When the works are complete operators will be able to run more than 25% more trains into and out of the station every day.

More work is also planned on November 24.

On Friday, December 27, LNER will also be running a reduced train service from King's Cross until 1.30pm.
