A DATE has been set for the trial of two teenagers accused of destroying a swan’s nest and attempting to damage a swan.
Kate Mellor, 18, of Hawthorn Drive, Yeadon, and Davina Morrow, 18, of Dockfield Place, Shipley, both pleaded not guilty to four counts each at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court.
They are jointly accused of damaging or destroying the nest of a wild bird and three counts of attempting to damage a mute swan of unknown value belonging to the Crown intending to damage or destroy such property.
The offences are alleged to have occurred beside the canal at Dockfield Road, Shipley, between July 1 and 4 this year.
The case trial was set for Tuesday, January 14, at 10am. The duo were given unconditional bail.
