In 1984, forty-second street the most vibrant area of New York’s night life had now come to Bradford in the form of a new wine bar and pizza-burger restaurant, licensed until 2am.
Previously the Manhattan Restaurant, Thornton Road, the total cost of the below stairs refit, was £45,000 including the installation of an old green GPO telephone box.
The failed bar which closed after its first year, reopened again in 1986, with hopes of attracting the teenage market.
