COUNCILLORS will decide whether to install double yellow lines in two areas of Baildon at a meeting tomorrow.

Bradford Council has proposed to install new traffic regulation orders to prevent parking on areas of Green Road.

After the proposals were advertised two people objected, and so the issue will go before the Council's Shipley Area Committee tomorrow.

The committee will be told that concerns had been expressed by road users, local residents, and Baildon Parish Council regarding road safety on Green Road, where motorists have to drive into oncoming traffic to avoid parked cars. They will be urged to approve the order, which is being funded by Baildon Town Council.

Objectors raised concerns over the orders reducing parking for residents on Green Road, and that the measures could lead to more motorists speeding.

But Council officers say the orders are "the very minimum considered necessary to address road safety and traffic management concerns."

The committee will also decide whether to move ahead with plans for double yellows on a section of Browgate, and the Summerfield Close/West Lane junction.

The committee meets in Bingley Town Hall at 6pm.
