THE work of six local artists depicting “A Celebration of Winter” is to be presented on Bradford’s big screen for the next eight weeks.

The artwork is collated by Colin Neville, the man behind the ongoing Not Just Hockney project which showcases the work of local artists.

Their work is being featured on the City Park screen in a daily presentation throughout November and December.

Mr Neville, who set up the Not Just Hockney website, said: “From autumn into winter, the Yorkshire landscape and urban scene takes on a different aspect, but one that has its own appeal.

“There are also the festivities of Bonfire Night, Christmas and New Year to look forward to. Over the next two months, as we move into winter, the six local artists featured on the Big Screen, present their own takes on the months ahead.

“There are creative images of winter land and townscapes, as well as those illustrating the spirit of Christmas, both past and present, and showing people making the best of the darker days, despite the weather.”

The six artists involved in this next presentation are:

  • Bob Barker, a self-taught local artist with a studio in Eccleshill. He has been painting since he received a set of oil paints at the age of 12 as a Christmas gift and his nostalgic paintings are inspired by local scenes and local people, past and present.

  • Paula Dunn is a Saltaire artist who works in a range of art mediums, including oil paint, textiles, and photography. She specialises in painting landscape, urban, and coastal scenes, particularly of Northern Britain.

  • June Russell is a Bradford artist and printmaker with a studio at the South Square Art Centre, Thornton. Her subject range is broad, including urban, rural, industrial and domestic scenes.

  • Jenny Tribillon is a window and mural artist. Originally from France she and now lives in Shipley. Her window painting for shops and other buildings is the main focus of her current work, although she also paints wall murals and supports children in local schools with art projects.

The Not Just Hockney exhibition runs every day at 12.30pm.
