A teenage girl was taken to hospital after a serious accident on a road in the Aire Valley tonight.
The incident happened in Crag Road, Shipley, with the road remaining closed for several hours.
One woman said she believed a vehicle had been involved in a collision with a female pedestrian.
The pedestrian, thought to be a teenage girl aged around 15, is believed to have suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
It is understood that the girl was taken to hospital amid huge concern for her wellbeing, but is starting to make a recovery after treatment.
Her injuries include a severe head injury, which the T&A understands has been glued in the A&E department.
She has also suffered damage to one of her knees and is generally ‘battered and bruised’.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area as the incident led to heavy traffic.
