DETAILS of new cycling routes linking Bradford city centre to Birkenshaw and Laisterdyke to Low Moor will now not be revealed until 2020.
West Yorkshire Combined Authority announced plans to introduce a number of improved cycle and walking routes across the region in January. They would include improved cycle facilities in the South Bradford and work to improve pedestrian routes in the centre of Keighley.
Funding for planned 6.5km cycle route in Brighouse approved
The Authority had consulted on the plans, and were due to reveal the draft proposals at a Transport Committee meeting next Friday. However, a report going to the committee says the plans will not be revealed until January 2020, the date of the next meeting. It says the consultation period for the proposals, originally due to end in September, had been extended to November.
It says the plans have been shared with the Department for Transport, and had been “well received.”
The Keighley scheme would see efforts made to get more people walking through Keighley town centre, particularly to Keighley Station and Keighley College, rather than taking short car journeys within the town.
