A MAJOR hip hop event returns to a city centre arts venue next week.

Now in its sixth year, Tech Styles once again takes over Kala Sangam Friday November 1 and Saturday November 2 for a weekend of breaking, hip-hop, and street art that is suitable for all the family.

The event kicks off on Friday from 7pm with a celebration of Bgirls and the impact female breakers have had on the community. Alongside inspirational talks, there will be live street art being created by some of the UK’s best graffiti artists and there will be plenty of space for dancers to show off their moves whilst some of the best local musicians get on the mic.

Kala Sangam plans to be a flagship arts centre

Saturday sees some of the UK’s best breakers battle it out from 12.30pm to see who will be crowned the Tech Styles 6 Champions in front of a packed audience in Kala Sangam’s intimate theatre.

Lloyd Thompson, Director of Tech Styles said, “We have something special and rare here in Bradford.

"The large amount of female breakers we have here is unique to the city and the world.

"This is something to celebrate and that’s exactly what we’re doing this year through the inspirational talks, the live graffiti exhibition and the Bgirl showcase. The weekend will provide some of the most fun and jaw dropping entertainment that you’ll see all year.”
