Police officer assaulted in Bradford after making arrest
A POLICE officer was assaulted after making an arrest for drunk and disorderly behaviour.
PC Gemma Sharman said she had been working overtime in Bradford city centre last night, when the incident happened.
She said: "Arrested a female for drunk and disorderly, and have then been assaulted by her in custody.
"Not acceptable. Further arrested for assault PC #ProtectTheProtectors."
The Protect the Protectors means new legislation has been introduced which established tougher sentences for those found guilty of assaulting emergency service workers.
