A WOMAN has been seriously injured in a crash involving a car which was being pursued by police.
Emergency services were called to the A650 near Birstall at around 6.40pm yesterday following a crash between a Mercedes and Vauxhall Corsa.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "A 48-year-old woman in the Corsa suffered a serious but not life threatening injury and was taken to hospital.
"The Mercedes, which had been reported as stolen, was being pursued by police prior to the collision and as a result a referral will be made to the IOPC (Independent Office for Police Conduct)."
