LEADERS in the North's business and political sphere are standing together to demand HS2 be delivered in full - alongside Northern Powerhouse Rail with a station in central Bradford.

Roger Marsh OBE, Chair of the NP11 Board and the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, said: “Ahead of the expected publication of the Oakervee Review, myself and fellow Northern LEP chairs are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with business and political leaders from across the North in demanding HS2 be delivered in full, alongside Northern Powerhouse Rail with a station in central Bradford.

“The additional capacity and faster journey times offered by HS2, integrated with NPR and an upgraded existing network, are crucial to the North’s ambitions to deliver extraordinary inclusive growth and help the North become a net contributor to the public purse.

“Improving transport connections is an essential ingredient to achieving our economic ambitions for the North and the true benefits of HS2 will only come to fruition if the full HS2 route is delivered in its entirety. NP11 has made clear and firm representations to the Government on this matter and we remain united with our Northern partners to ensure this opportunity does not pass us by.”
