IT is not just Campion's firsts who are showing early season promise, with second team manager Louis Etienne scooping the West Yorkshire Amateur Football League's Division One manager of the month award for September.

Etienne guided his team to a pair of 2-1 away victories, at Kippax and Pool, during the month, while they also picked up an impressive 4-1 home win over Aberford Albion.

Their only dropped points came at home to Featherstone Colliery, when they were involved in a thrilling 4-4 draw, a game in which substitute Kyle Bingham scored a brace.

It was not just the league in which Campion had success either, with a 2-0 win over fellow Bradford district side Athletico seeing them through in the Bradford & District Cup.

Their first team, like the seconds, sit just one place off the summit in their division, in this case the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One.

They made an indifferent start to the season, but have now won seven games in a row, including all five in September, since their 3-2 FA Vase First Qualifying Round defeat at Esh Winning on August 31.

Six of those were in the league, with last week's wonderful 6-0 win over promotion rivals Retford FC keeping them just three points off the summit.
