A THIRD strike housebreaker who burgled three properties in the same street has been jailed for three years.
John Elliott, 39, who is serving a lengthy prison sentence for similar offending, appeared at Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday on a video link to HMP Wealstun.
Elliott pleaded guilty to burgling three houses in Sapgate Lane, Thornton, Bradford, on December 11 last year.
Prosecutor Philip Adams said his haul included jewellery, cash, computers, watches and a mountain bike.
In February, Elliott was locked up for three years and nine months for burgling two houses, in October and December last year, one before and one after the new offences.
His barrister, Ken Green, said Elliott was a “third strike” house burglar whose offending was drug related.
Recorder Dafydd Enoch QC told Elliott that house burglary caused upset that lasted a lifetime.
He said the three year prison term should not increase the time Elliott spends behind bars.
