A CONCERNED neighbour called fire crews to a house in Heckmondwike after noticing smoke in the kitchen.
The resident, who was unaware of the fire, was hurried out of the house on Grosvenor Terrace.
A chip pan was determined to be the source of the fire after the homeowner had left the kitchen while cooking.
No one was injured in the incident but high powered fans were used to clear all the smoke out of the house.
Firefighters from Heckmondwike and Dewsbury got the call out to a house fire at 5.36pm.
Crew command Greg Pearce from Heckmondwike station has urged people not to leave the kitchen half-way through cooking and to make sure all smoke alarms are working.
